“I’m tired of people telling me to get over it. People with anxiety can’t just get over it.”
Casey Throwaway tearfully recorded himself coming down from a panic attack to show how how much they actually suck, and to give anyone suffering from anxiety a message of hope.
Casey told BuzzFeed, "I decided to make the video because the last few times I had a panic attack, I wanted to find something I could relate to, but everything felt pretty 'tame' compared to how I felt."
Towards the tail end of his panic attack, Casey picked up the camera and started filming himself. He said, "I wanted to see if there were other people who felt like I did, and I took the risk of putting a video of me basically crying on the internet."
As nervous as he was to post it, people with and without anxiety began to praise Casey for his courage and thank him for his message.
He told BuzzFeed, "Thankfully thousands of people from all over seem to find it comforting to know they aren't alone, and I couldn't be happier about it or more driven to continue to try to end the stigmas around mental health issues."
He didn't even let his haters get him down. "Even all the negative messages I've gotten have pushed me to want to end stigmas. It's a win-win and I wont stop now," he said.
He's even created a Kickstarter campaign to fund a mental health video series to discuss anxiety and help those who suffer from it.
